Prerna Agarwal

IIIT Delhi

I am a final year student of M.tech CSE specializing in Data Engineering from IIIT Delhi.
My thesis advisor is Dr. Chetan Arora. My thesis is on "Mobility Assistance for Visually impaired people", in collaboration with IIT Delhi.
I completed B.Tech from Jamia Millia Islamia, A central University, New Delhi.




My research interest lies in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Spatial Data Mining.
I am awarded with a Gold Medal by Jamia Millia Islamia for attaining highest CGPA in the University.
Also, awarded with Dean's excellence award for excellent academic performance during the year 2015-2016, IIIT Delhi.

Current Ongoing Projects

MAVI

To develop a mobility assistance device for blind people to detect obstacles, road, pavement, animals etc. using openCV and machine learning techniques and further using deep learning techniques. This project is in collaboration with IIT Delhi

MOVIE RECOMMENDER SYSTEM

Collecting Indian users data about movies and demographics and building an efficient recommendation system that works in the Indian context, covering regional cinema.

ELEPHANT ACCIDENT PREVENTION

Collecting seismic data from elephant corridors that cross railway tracks and using that to prevent elephant-train accidents. This project is funded by World Wildlife Fund(WWF) and Wildlife Institute of India(WII).

Probabilistic Pointer Analysis

To provide a solution to the problem of pointer analysis on Java classes to find the probability of each object pointing to another object using SOOT.

Multimodal Search

To build a multimodal search engine using deep learning. Image + Audio + Text based indexing, ranking and searching.

Optical Word Recognition

A probabilistic graphical model approach to solve the problem of word recog- nition in images improving its accuracy and building different models.
